Pantin is an experimental dance film that questions the place of the body in our cities and environment: where do we belong? how do we evolve in a constantly moving world? The dance reflects on the difficulty to stand alone while belonging to a group. “Pantin” is the area of Paris where the film was shot and the word for “Puppet” in French.
Made in collaboration with six dancers of The Paris Opera School, with choreography by Simon Le Borgne and an original score by Ulysse Zangs.
Panting was originally a live dance piece so we were brought in to re-create it for the camera. We explored the location and suggested the best angles to shoot based on the movement and the ideas within the dance. We also worked with the dancers to on editing the dance sequences and adapting them to the different spaces.
